King’s Ridge Christian School is excited to welcome Coach Shawn Heraty as the new Head Softball Coach. With over 20 years of experience coaching youth sports, Coach Heraty has dedicated his career to developing athletes both on and off the field. He has coached competitive travel softball for 15 years with organizations such as Northern Ice, Vernon Hills Stingers, and Fury Platinum, leading teams in top tournaments across the country, including PGF. Throughout his career, he has helped develop over 30 athletes who have gone on to play college softball.

In addition to his travel coaching experience, Coach Heraty has five years of coaching at the middle school and high school varsity levels. As a certified hitting coach and proud member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), he is committed to fostering strong fundamentals, advanced skills, and a love for the game.

Beyond coaching, he is a devoted husband to his wife, Krissy, and a proud father of five. Both of his daughters were accomplished softball players, with his oldest competing at the Division I level. His passion for the sport extends beyond competition, as he strives to mentor young athletes and help them achieve their full potential. The KRCS community is excited for the future of Tigers Softball under his leadership!
