The Athletic Department is pleased to announce Mark Buchanan as our incoming Director of Football Operations and Varsity Head Coach. Coach Buchanan comes to KRCS after 16 seasons as Head Football Coach at Indian Rocks Christian School, where he built a program defined by both competitive excellence and Christian character. His teams compiled a 109-67 record with 10 playoff appearances, two state semifinal runs, and a state championship appearance. Along the way, he was named Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach of the Year (2022), earned Pinellas County Coach of the Year honors twice (2014, 2022), and received the Suncoast Officials Sportsmanship Award twice (2014, 2022). He began his coaching career at Palm Beach Lakes High School, where he served from 1998 to 2005, and holds a B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Central Florida. At IRC, he also taught Christian Education and led the weight room, which reflects the spiritual, academic, and competitive investment he makes in every player he coaches.

Coach Buchanan shared, "I am humbled and honored to step into this new role as the head football coach at King's Ridge Christian. With 16 years of head coaching experience, I firmly believe that faith, character, and competition are interconnected. Throughout my career, I have been blessed to help develop and equip many young men of integrity, discipline, and purpose. I believe football is a powerful platform to teach accountability, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership grounded in the Christian faith. I am excited to invest in student-athletes and partner with families to help lead the program in a way that honors our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."
